Seniors Program)
Our adoption fee covers some of the costs associated with microchipping (all adopted animals) for identification, vet bills and vaccinations. In addition, it is MANDATORY that ALL animals adopted from SVHS are neutered or spayed by a licensed veterinarian. SVHS is a strong advocate of controlling the pet population; spay or neuter is not a negotiable part of the pet adoption contract. However, we do realize the rising costs of these surgeries; thereby, we offer an assistance program to help defray the costs. Applications are available at our desk.
Our pre-adoption application is linked below—this enables perspective adopters to fill out (and return via e-mail) required information prior to visiting our shelter. Our goal is 48-hour adoptions; this pre-adoption step enables us to meet our goal! THIS BY NO MEANS OBLIGATES YOU TO ADOPT AN ANIMAL!
