When releasing a pet to the
shelter, there is a $30.00 surrender fee ($10.00 for each additional pet). Once a
release form has been signed, the animal is given an initial medical exam by a
trained professional, vaccinated, and wormed. The animal is then available for
adoption.

Animals brought to the shelter as strays,
either by the Sheriff’s Department or citizens,
are held for five working (Monday-Friday) days. This allows the owners a chance
to reclaim their pet.
How long an animal stays at the shelter depends on the health and disposition of the animal, to allow them a good chance to find a caring home.
